Jonah 2:1-10 Jonah is drowning in the sea, but he calls out to God and is saved. God will use whatever means necessary to get our attention, and turn our hearts toward Him. This passage vividly illustrates how the wages of sin is death, but God will show grace and mercy to anyone who calls out in faith in His name. God has a disciplining grace for His children–Jonah is saved from drowning, but he is still inside a whale! God is working to bring Jonah’s will into line with His. Finally Jonah admits that God is in control, that God loves him very much, and that he will now do whatever his Lord requires of him.
