Colossians 1:1-2 First century Colossae was a town on the decline. The young church was faced with false teachings that offered a higher spiritual life than one based simply on the gospel. Under house arrest for preaching the good news of Jesus, Paul writes to these new believers reminding them that they are complete in Christ.
