Ephesians 1:1-2 To gain a better understanding of the letter to the Ephesians, we first learn what we can from Acts 19. Ephesus was famous for their temple to the goddess Artemis (also called Diana). Ephesians was written to encourage the church to live united in Christ as God’s holy temple in their city. Paul begins by explaining their Position in Christ, then outlines their Priorities as a Church. He tells them they are Alive in Christ to Live Out the gospel Together in their community.
